Eastern bluebird

I've just returned from a trip to New York, where I spent some time in the Adirondack national park (the setting for James Fenimore Cooper's Last of the Mohicans) and while out mountaineering and canoeing, on many occasions, I came across the eastern bluebird (Sialia sialis).
With temperatures relatively mild for that time of the year in upstate New York, this charming species seemed to be highly active and thriving.

The most regular abbreviations used in the magazine are:
CBS = Cage Bird Society
BS = Budgerigar Society (eg Northern BS; but BS on its own always means THE Budgerigar Society, ie the national organisation)
CC = Canary Club (eg Border Fancy CC)
