It's a record-breaker for Malta Gloster BS

Officials at the most recent Malta Gloster Breeders Society (MGBS) show say they were "overwhelmed" after receiving a record 600 entries − an increase of 100 from the 2010 show.

Keith retains his title

A member of South East Ipswich CBS has won the club's table show competition shield for the second year running.

Keith Bennett, from Bury St Edmunds, achieved 145 points and was presented with the shield at the club's presentation night in December last year. Second place was awarded to Kevin Peck.

A study into what influences breeding Slavonian grebes (Podiceps auritus) to choose particular habitats in Scotland has shown that lochs containing pike were not favoured.

Rescue centre pleads for donations

Denbighshire Wildlife Rescue Centre needs to raise £5,000 to apply for charity status, but Mr Leeham said: 'The money is going out faster than it is coming in'
A bird rescue centre in Bodelwyddan, North Wales, has been forced to close due to financial problems – but its owners refuse to give up.

Denbighshire Wildlife Rescue Centre, which also cares for unwanted pet birds and animals, is looking to rehome some of its inmates. These include an African grey, a barn owl, a tawny owl and a Bengalese eagle owl. The centre will close on March 1 unless donations start coming in.
