READ ALL ABOUT some of the great voyages of natural history discovery in this latest offering from the Natural History Museum (NHM). We have a copy to give away to three lucky readers.

Since the eighteenth century, scientists and artists together have embarked on a succession of perilous expeditions to document the natural world. Expeditions and Endeavours presents more than 100 paintings and drawings created as a result of these missions during
the past 300 years.

This selection is drawn from the library of London’s NHM and features many images that have never been published before. Illustrations from Henry Walter Bates and Alfred Russel Wallace during their time spent exploring the Amazon are shown alongside all three of Captain Cook’s voyages to the Pacific, the Challenger expedition, which changed the nature of oceanographic and marine exploration, and Robert Falcon Scott’s treks to Antarctica.
