Above: The members’ breeder list will be under the watchful eye of Paul Larkin who will maintain the list throughout the year to keep it compliant with GDPR legislation
A MEMBERS’ BREEDER list has been introduced by the Fife Canary Council (FCC). The listing will be published on the FCC’s new website when complete, and also printed in all Council publications.
The aim is to assist all FCC members in moving on surplus stock at the end of each breeding season, and to enable any new fancier who wishes to take up the hobby to contact a reputable breeder in their area.
Paul Larkin, FCC secretary, said another benefit the FCC hopes the new listing will bring is to “encourage a mentoring system for new fanciers, as they will be getting their birds directly from the breeder who would have first-hand knowledge of the birds’ parentage and feeding regime, and for the inclusion and friendship. This will hopefully encourage new fanciers to join FCC’s clubs.”
The list will comprise the following details:
- Breeder name.
- Area location (no home addresses will be allowed).
- Email or phone.
To be included on the FCC members’ breeder list for 2021/2022, email Mr Larkin: email@example.com
FCC chairman Cain Thomas added: “Having a more open and inclusive hobby where the fancier is at the centre of all that we do will only help secure the future of this wonderful hobby.”
THE Fife Canary Council’s show directory for 2021 is available to members. The directory includes all Council show details, entry costs, judges, venues, and show secretary details as well as the classification. To get your copy, email: firstname.lastname@example.org
